The Edible Garden
June 19–October 17, 2010
Throughout the summer and into autumn, The Edible Garden, celebrates growing and preparing great food. Set throughout the Botanical Garden's spectacular 250-acre landscape, The Edible Garden will feature numerous vegetable gardens and multiple displays, demonstrations from food and gardening experts, celebrity appearances during four festival weekends, and exciting programs that demonstrate the bounty, economy, and nutritional value of edible plants. Proceeds benefit the Children’s Gardening program.
Botanicals: Environmental Expressions in Art,
The Alisa and Isaac M. Sutton Collection
September 4, 2010–January 9, 2011
This rare look at the largest American collection of contemporary botanical art comes to The New York Botanical Garden after showing at the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation in Pittsburgh. The exhibition documents a wide variety of plant life in aesthetically stunning fashion and includes artwork by instructors and alumni of the Botanical Garden’s renowned Botanical Art & Illustration Certificate program. Admission is included in The Edible Garden ticket.
Stone Mill Open House Weekends
September 11–12 & September 18 - 19, 2010
Join Garden staff, docents, and guides from The New York Landmarks Conservancy for an inside look at the newly restored Lillian and Amy Goldman Stone Mill. Enjoy live music on the terrace, and don’t miss the opportunity for tours of this New York City and National Historic Landmark (open to the public on a limited basis after these weekends), surrounding gardens and collections, and the picturesque Bronx River. Admission is included in The Edible Garden ticket.
Leadership support for the project has been received from The Lillian Goldman Charitable Trust, The Amy P. Goldman Foundation, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. Additional funding has been received from Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Nolen; New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission; New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation; and New York State, Office of the Attorney General.

Enid A. Haupt Conservatory Being Refurbished June 14 through Fall 2010
The Conservatory will be temporarily closed beginning June 14 through the fall for planned structural and interpretive refurbishment. During the summer, the Conservatory Container Garden on Conservatory Terrace will feature plants of The Edible Garden. The refurbished Conservatory will showcase the Holiday Train Show starting November 19.
